Father's Day Camping Year Dos

We went camping for our second annual Father's Day camping trip!  We went to a Pearl Lake State Park near Steamboat Springs.  Long drive, but worth it for the beautiful site.

Checking out the lake on our first day

This child gets dirty and could care less!
View from one side of our campsite.
 And the other...not too shabby!
Fishing!  The new kids poles have these fake fish on them for kids to practice casting and reeling.  He played with it that way forever at camp so we decided to just leave it that way.  He doesn't want help with anything, so this worked very well.  He got pretty good at casting by himself.  We did this for an hour and a half.  Carter doesn't do anything for an hour and a half.  I might build a pond in my back yard!

With a tackle box, some rocks, and a camera with a timer you can always set up a selfie:)
This is our second attempt at fishing.  Trying to go a little further on the trail, so we put Carter on his bike.  From our first trip we thought this would be fine, but as we went further it was to many huge rocks and tree roots for Carter to be able to ride his bike.  Oh well I got this picture...
I remembered the rule of thirds when they were to far away...oh well
Niles helping him up a hill
 Photo bombing hikers...boo
 Lots our favorite flowers around
One of my favorites of the two loves of my life, Why are we dressed in full winter gear?...We got rained on our last day and it got pretty cold.  This is why you are able to camp in the summer around here. Unlike other south places or midwest areas where it is way to hot to camp in summer:)

(That particular comment is focused at a family who has plans of moving from this beautiful area to a very hot, humid, and miserable area and I don't understand why?  It is not to late to stay in Colorado.  I can get both you jobs back:)
I was determined to get a good picture of Carter.  This is what he does when I try to take his picture....I even try to trick him:)

These were some of my attempts, you can see his deviousness

 I really like this one

We bought ice cream sandwiches for Father's Day, Carter was very excited

 Honda Pilot Car Ad:)
Stealing wood from a neighboring camp site (After they checked out of course)

 Sweet Boy
 More selfies

When they rain came there was  a beautiful sunset with all these layers of color.  I couldn't capture it with the camera.

Fantastic trip to celebrate the wonderful father that is my husband:)
