Colorado Times

Carter and I just returned from 20 days in the great state of Colorado (OK we didn't just get back, but I started writing this post two weeks ago and just now getting around to finishing it:). We are tired, but had a great time. We were able to see lots of great friends that we miss dearly.

See those mountains coming! This is about the time my elevation sickness started in. I battled it the whole trip despite drinking tons and tons of water. Kind of funny that I was never bothered by it the 7 years I lived there!

Playing with our pal Juni!

Maizy and Rowan. I love all of these children. They had a lot of fun.

Tired baby. Looks just like my father in this pic.

Hiking at Maliot park in Minturn with Deb L! One of my favorite mountain towns.

He climbed every rock along the way.

Who doesn't love a park in the middle of this scenery!

Deb bought Carter his bike so he had to show her how he can ride it now!

Playing basketball with the Leto's

Just look at that face. He could convince me to give him anything!

Lonnie is such a good sport!

Checking for eggs at Sawyer's house

Of course a trip to Moes!

Carter was teaching Zachary how to eat banana pudding. Very good teacher.

Walking down to the new ice cream place with Mr. Kaddatz and Logan.

Sylvan Lake with Michelle, definite favorite place and person..oh and Zoe, don't forget her!

 Swim party at our hotel
We had to borrow some floaties that happened to be pink

 Being an octopus

Vail Mountain Games...so much fun.
Brynn and Carter Meeting Mort.  (He was a mascot for the Vail 2015 ski world championships that were just there)

 Watching the Dock dogs jump

 Little Climber

 And kayaker

Noki was a puppy when we left...not so much anymore.  So big now!  Go pro gave her that camera for free.  Free advertising bc she attracted a lot of attention.
and going home with these goof balls.  Notice the T-Rex in his seatbelt.  Thank you Brynn for helping.
Down to Denver for a Rockies game with a college Pal of mine.  He got us great seats from another OSU Cowboy that works for the Rockies.

We visited Lisa and her family in Littleton, and Jodi and her family in Castle Rock....but I didn't take one picture at either place!  I'm so mad at myself.  This never would have happened two years ago.  Oh well.  Guess they will just stay out mental memories.

Next it was off to Colorado Springs.  On the way there I saw the most magical thing...
I was so excited that I had to pull over and take a pic to send to Jodi and Lisa.  Jodi already knew, but Lisa did not.  This is my most favorite text message ever.
So yes I took a screen shot of the text and a picture of taco bueno, yet I took no pictures of my friends and their growing children...priorities.

Garden of the Gods was our first stop.  I wished we had planned longer to play here.  It was so awesome, and Carter was in love with all the rocks to climb on.

Pikes Peak is the snow covered mountain in the background.

Now time to go up that bad boy.  Pikes Peak Cog Railway!

Wall of snow at the top

 First snow sightings!

A little bit of an awesome view up there.

 Carter was a little cold.

and Im pregnant with a 4 year old...aka warming him up

Next up...Cheyeene Mountain Zoo!  It was fantastic.  A zoo right out of the side of a mountain.
 Best part....feeding the giraffes!

 Blue tounge

If you can't tell by how many pictures I took, it was awesome.  Johnny said he thought you could do it here in Tulsa, and you can from 11-12.  We may just have to go do it again and again!
Our Hotel in CO Springs was awesome.  It had its own beach!
and a pool with a mountain view...which was why I booked this hotel

Out of order, but great pic of the four of us at Pikes Peak (Beth and Brynn)

 Wallabies!
See that Wallaby poop in front of Brynn...about ten seconds after this pic Carter touched it:)

 Baby Wallaby

They of course have a ski lift or a "gondalator" as Carter called it

and we may have gone back to feed the giraffes again!

Next up...Pearl Lake right outside Steamboat Springs with Becky and Ryder one night and Mark and Amanda one night.  This was where we camped a few years ago for Father's Day.

Mr. Mark got his fishing pole all set up
He did a pretty good job casting by himself...just stand far far away

 The yurt we stayed in
Next up it was visiting the Brummers in Steamboat!  They rented a house there for a month.  It was the coolest place right along this creek that feed into the Yampah.  You had to drive down a trail head to get to it, but yet it was right in the middle of town.  So great!

Mr. Nick and Monkey slacklining
Mark was pretty good...slacklining is really really hard
 what vacation is for...and donuts:)

 Silly boys
 eating Smores!

Lindy Hiking in her pretty dress

Can you spot all three of them?

We tried to take a selfie at the "Real" steamboat spring.  Kinda hard

At the pump track in Eagle-Vail.  Carter borrowed Lindy's strider, bc it was hard with the real bike

Carter and I spent one night at a hotel in Vail

We had breakfast in bed which he thought was pretty awesome.
Next it was to Beth's house for a few days.  Becky, Ryder, and Deb all came over and we facetimed Nettie in from San Diego, and Amy in from Luxembourg!  It was like a real girl's night again!

 Last event...Bonfire
 Carter learning to play checkers

Awesome trip with awesome people in an awesome place:)  Till next year Colorado!
