Day 49 Another Beautiful Sunset,  a sunspot right in the middle, boo

Day 50: Carter discovered his shadow, I was trying to position him so you could see him and the shadow, he would not cooperate

 Day 51

Sick Baby...his face is blurry and it drives me crazy, but I still thought this was the best one of the day

Day 52 Leftover Salmon at the Vilar, Niles and I got a babysitter (Thank you Christine)  and went up to the Beav.  It was a long day for me bc I also had parent teacher conferences.  Was a little late to the show, but it was fun and got to hang out with good friends.

D53:  I do not follow the rule of thirds for photographers...I like right smack in the middle...good thing I am not a professional

Day 54 Skinny little legs, big ole belly!

The Hinsons are moving!

Doing a little blogging from New Orleans!  I am a few days late on this news, but wanted to shout out the celebration anyway!  The Hinsons are moving to Carbondale, IL!  My dad took the Head Men's Basketball Job at Southern Illinois University!  Go Salukis!  They are in the Missouri Valley Conference like Missouri State was.  SIU and MSU are pretty big rivals.  It feels a little weird to say Go Salukis, but it won't feel weird to say Beat the Bears!  Ok it will prob be weird, but fun and exciting too.  Here are a few articles about the announcement.

I also saw Izzo today, but didn't want to bug him for a pic.  He was playing with his son/grandson?  and it was really cute

I will post some more NOLA pics later.  Niles arrives tomorrow for the Kansas vs Ohio State game!  We get to be Jayhawks for a few more days, Rock Chalk!

13 Months

Carter turned 13 months a week ago.  I'm not going to take the chair pic anymore.  He is difficult to wrangle now.  I would like to still write updates about him.  I like to go back and read them, because I forget!

-He is into everything!  I went to a baby shower on Sat.  I don't know why.  I spent the whole shower chasing Carter everywhere.
-He is a genius!  He knows sign language and we didn't teach it to him!  A few months ago our daycare lady said, "I didn't know you were doing sign language with him."  I did not correct her, even though I knew we were not doing sign language.  Now he signs.  Favorite is "More."  He says it whenever he wants something.  I guess he learned that when he did it, people give him stuff.
-Can say Ball now
-8 teeth and working on a few more
-About to go on his 2nd Final Four trip!  Lucky duck!
-survived his first stomach bug
-loves to be tickled, especially on the coach where he can throw himself back and wait for you to come after him
-Made his first basket on his goal!  I keep not getting it on camera.  We will try again when we get home
-Eating everything!!!!!I think he eats more than I do!
-Starting to get really mad when he doesn't get his way

We are having fun and definitely tired!

Spring!

It has been in the high sixties all weekend and we are loving it!  Took Carter to the park.  He is still a little young to do a lot of the things, but he had fun exploring, trying to eat wood chips, and trying to make mommy eat wood chips:)

We also played on the swings and slides:)

This is what he did when we left:(  In his defense this is what he looks  like when ever he goes in his car seat.

Sick Mommy and Daddy

Of course we follow Carter with the throwing up sickness.  We both woke up today feeling terrible.  We both went to work anyway.  Not the best decision on either of our parts.  I felt like I had to go, because I missed yesterday and today was the first day of state testing.  Needless to say about 20 minutes into the test I am in the back room of my classroom throwing up and my neighbor was calling the office.  My boss showed up to see me in such great shape.  I was humiliated. Your boss watching you throw up in the middle of state testing is not a bucket list item:)  Niles had thrown up before he left the house, but went anyway.  He is leaving for Cali on Thursday to see Ryan  and felt like he couldn't miss another day.  One nausea filled appointment and they sent him home.

I hate hate missing work for laying on the couch.  I would much rather spend my days chasing basketball!  I might actually use all of my sick/vacation days this year.  That has never happened in my entire life.  Oh well, its just money right:)

Sick Baby:(

Carter started the day throwing up.  This may be our worst day as parents.  I think I would take immunization days over today.  You just feel so helpless and he was so miserable.  The only positive was he stayed in one of our laps all day.  He is not a snuggler, so it was nice to have him want to sit with you.  We ended the day with a handful of cheerios and a few sips of water.  First things to stay down...so far:)  Needless to say, I get to stay home with him tomorrow.  Hopefully it is a much better day!  I of course took pictures of my sick boy.  He may not have felt well, but he is still super cute!

sleeping in my lap, never happens

 no clothes, kept getting um...dirty
Watching the selection show, he is very excited about KUs No.2 Seed and wishes that he could go to Omaha
Now I need to know how to get the gross smell out of my couch, any suggestions?

"It's all in the Parenting"

So I made the mistake of making this comment at our lake trip a few years ago.  I am highly regretting this comment.  Carter is going to be...stubborn.  I can already tell.  We are in a family battle of don't touch the TV and pull out the DVD drawer.  Carter does one of two things:

1.) Touch it or start to pull the drawer out then close his eyes, smile, and wait for you to come drag him away.  He thinks it is a very fun game.

or 2.) he goes to the drawer and as he is pulling it out shakes his head "no."

Every once in awhile he will start and as we say no he will look at us and then walk away from it.  A little cheer goes off in my head...and then two minutes later he goes after it again.  Defeat.

It's all in the parenting right, Tiffany:)
