One Night

Amazing that in one night we can have so much fun...

He likes to crawl under things and try to sit up.  Doesn't work under the kitchen chairs, but kinda works with his saucer.

Trying to stand up, can't quite fit.

I lied yesterday, Lilly is still the favorite.
I know totally disgusting that we let her lick him.  Can't help it, so I have just given in.

Lately

Not much going on in our neck of the woods, which is delightful!  Last week we were a family of four...for one night only.  Maizy slept over.  We went to the park for the first time.

She pushed him on the swing.  Sometimes it seemed like he like it:

 sometimes a little scared

He loves to play on our landing. I think it is because it is different than the living room, but he can still see us.

Trying to stand up. Not quite figured out.
Forget those dogs, Jasmine is the new fav.  He crawls up to her and pounces.  The shocker is, she lets him! After he pounces, he does this cute snuggle into her.  Love.
I think it is more effort for her to move, so she just deals with it.
His hair is still uncontrollable.  Flat on top and puffy on the sides.
We all have the death cold this week.  Started with Carter and then moved on to both Niles and I.  Niles never gets sick, so you know it is strong when it hits him.  Hopefully we will be happy and healthy by Thursday.  Headed to Lawrence for the weekend!

My Dad the Boxer!

Late Night at the Phog was this past weekend.  My dad started Late Night with the Kelly Comets based on KU's Late Night.  It was a blast for my eight year old self,  but I've always wanted to go to the real thing.  Maybe next year....This year his contribution was a boxing match vs Victor Ortiz, who just lost his belt to Mayweather a couple of weeks ago.  Apparently he told Ortiz he could really hit him to make it more believable.  Yeah right dad, he could kill you.  I like the comment  one of the people on You tube said, "If Coach Hinson got punched with even 25% of Ortiz's power, he'd be so brain damaged he'd have to start coaching at Mizzou!"  Here is the video.  It is a little long and not the best quality.  I think the first part is the best.  When he gives Ortiz one of the headbutts he accidentally, really headbutted him.  Busted his lip and everything.  Whoops!  Good thing Ortiz didn't go for payback.

8 Months Old!

Amazing the changes he/we have gone through in the last 8 months.  He is a full mobile machine getting into everything, and isn't even full on crawling yet.  The dogs, electronics, and plants don't know what hit them.

Things to remember about Carter at 8 months:

-Army crawls very quickly
-Can sit himself up from laying down.  Not consistent with how he does this, so sometimes he ends up in some very funny positions.
-Got over our first cold, not much fun for any of us
-Eating lots!  Newest items are chicken, beef, greek yogurt, and cheese.
-Can stand holding on to the couch or his saucer by himself
-Still loves those dogs, guaranteed way to make him smile
-Says Dada all the time. Not necessary directed at Niles, so I am still hoping for a Mama come through!
-Daycare is going great.  Carter has made lots of buddies.  Two of the other kids are within a month of him. She goes on about how well they all play together at such a young age.  The little girl that is his age looks just like his twin.  It is really crazy when you have them next to each other.

We went to the pumpkin patch today.  The one in Eagle is very disappointing.  Not like the ones in OK where there are pumpkins everywhere in the middle of a field, with corn mazes, and open all month. We hear there is one in Newcastle, but Carter isn't into all that yet.  Therefore not worth the trip.

Carter was more interested in trying to eat the hay...

 and pumpkins
We had a hard time getting a smile out of him, because there was so much going on.  He was also not into the glaring sun.  This was his best attempt.  I just missed the smile.  Thought the result was funny though.

Who wants to turn their child into a green zombie...I do!  I really like playing with my picture editing.  Especially the new Halloween options!
This was a pic from the alumni watch party a couple of weeks ago.  Carter and I failed at the S.  Carson and Brayden were a way better O and U.

Terry and Lisa came for a visit last weekend.  They ran into our first snow in their travels.  It is that time of year!  Carter and I are heading to Lawrence in a few weeks and then home again Christmas.  So excited for the Holidays.  Had a lot of fun decorating the Blog!

Fall in the Rockies

Fall has arrived and is already fading quickly.  When we drove to Denver for the A&M game the trees were just starting to change.  Last Thursday Niles took Carter on a hike in Vail and the trees were completely changed.    Snow, Snow stay away!

Carter is wearing Niles's hat

 Aspens are my fav!

He has the army crawl thing going on:
