On the move

Not quite crawling, but he is rolling and wiggling to get to his preferred destination.  It takes a lot of effort, but very comical for us to observe.  Watch the process...

Lake Texoma

Every year my mom's side of the family gathers at Lake Texoma for a week of lake fun.  This was our 13th year.  We have grown from a couple of cabins to a couple of cabins and half the camp ground.  I don't get to see this side of the family very often, so it is one of my favorite weeks of the year!  Warning picture overload!

5 Months Old!

Time is flying!

These are some out takes from a few days earlier

 This is what he does when he wants to stand up (which is what he always wants to do, see below!)

Things I want to remember about Carter at 5 months (this is my unofficial baby book!)
-Sitting  up longer each day
-Rolling over from tummy to back all the time, but only tummy to back every so often.  Weird bc he used to roll that way all the time.  Sleeping on tummy all the time.  We can't even get out of the room before he has flipped himself.
-Laughing at weird sounds you make, swinging movement, Lilly of course, and just random moments of nothing and he starts chuckling.  Love those baby laughs.
-Wants to be standing ALL the time.  He gives these little grunts of frustration when you want him to do something else.
-Talks quite a bit and loudly.  I got up and fed him on Sunday, handed him off to Niles and went back to bed.  Had a hard time getting to sleep bc he was being so loud all the way in the kitchen.   I have fun making up what he is saying and answering him.  ( I do this to all my animals as well)  If I was on secret camera, I'm sure it would be amusing.
- BFing 6 times a day.  Still takes him 30 min to eat.  I am hoping he will speed up a little soon.
-Sleeps fabulously (thank you God for such a good sleeper)  He goes down at 8:30 p.m. and wakes up at 7 something.  Sometimes earlier, sometimes longer.  I let him be my alarm.

So far he is a really easy going baby.  Don't know how we got so lucky!

We leave for Lake Texoma tomorrow.  And yes my CO friends that is OK and TX put together.  The lake is in both states, so it is a very logical name;)  Little confusion with our travel plans.  We had originally planned for me to go to the lake this Sat.  Go to Tulsa on Thursday, Lawrence on Sunday, and home on Wednesday.  Niles had  issues with his work schedule, so the second half of the trip had to be postponed a week.  Now I am leaving for the lake tomorrow and then coming back to CO on Friday.  We will then come to T-town Thurs, July 28, Lawrence July 31 (only Tiff and Carter), and back to CO Aug 3.  Would love to see everyone, give us a call!

Sitting up!

Sitting up!   He can do it longer each day, but if he gets excited or distracted, he topples.  Not going to be walking away from him for a little while.

When Niles comes home from work he starts smiling like crazy, when I start talking to him he starts smiling, but when Lilly walks into the room, that boy lights up like a Christmas tree.  Smiling, Laughing, moving.  All Lilly ever wants is attention, well she is going to get it.

From here on out we have every weekend booked until September 10.  The Lake, Yarmony Grass, Tulsa, Lawrence, Johnny/Terry Visit, Girls Weekend, Camping, Jodi/Chris/Twins visit (?), Rockies Game.  We couldn't possibly fit any more into this summer.

4th Of July!

Busy holiday for a busy fam.  The Nelson girls and I took Carter for a hike around Sylvan Lake on Friday.  Wanted to try something easy and short for our first hike.  Sylvan is also one of my favorite places to take pics.

Niles went to his first Red Rocks show of the season on Sunday.  He saw a band called Umphrey's McGhee.  Not my fav, so I hung back with Carter.  We will both be going soon for Yonder at RR!

Fourth of July!  We started off at the Simons house for brats and burgers.

We then traveled down the road a bit to see Carter's favorite girl Maizy (and Lonnie and Taber of course)  Devon joined in on the party too.

Oklahoma Bound in Two weeks!!!!  Lake Texhoma here we come, please be a nice 80 degrees for us:)  Carter can't wait to ride the Eberle's new toy... 

Just kidding, Carter will spend his days in the shade and maybe a short swim in the water!
