Talking Baby

A couple of videos showing talking Carter

I actually forgot a lot of my favorites:(  My new fav is "not nice."  I tried to get him to do it again, but was unable to get him to sit still.  Getting it the first time was a miracle!

This is a video that Nick sent me the other day.  He said Carter had been laying and talking to himself for ever.  Not to be critical, but man Nick the video on your phone is not a very good!

Happy Labor Day weekend!  Mary and Jodi are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Can't wait!!!!

Festivaaaaal

We went to the Kinfolk festival this last weekend.  It was a 2 day music festival.  We camped in Lyons, CO at Planet Bluegrass.  It was a lot of fun.  We all returned exhausted.

Carter and I had to walk about a mile from where we parked to camp.  Carter had to ride with the bag.

We had a park near camp.  This was our second visit.  The first was at 6 am when Carter decided to be not so quiet in the tent.  I took him in his pjs and a hoodie thinking we wouldn't run into anyone.  Of course we did.  Who takes their kid to the park at 6 am!
Carter is really funny around a massive group of people.  He has no fear of anyone.  He would walk up to random people and say bite if they were eating, walk right through peoples' campsites,  and never of course wanted to sit still.  Here we are out for a walk with our puppy.  This pic was taken by Planet Bluegrass's photog.  He looks dirty.  Prob bc he loved that dirt road.  He liked to lay in in and then brush himself off.

The US Pro bike race went through Lyons while we were there.  We waited a long time for seconds of bikers.  Carter passed out.
and so did Niles

The crowd was weird mix of hippies and bike fans.  These people were chalking the road.
The part through town was a sprint.
This dude was in the lead.  I have no idea who any of them are.  I did not spot a yellow jersey.  Evans dropped out and some other guy. People were upset, so maybe he was in the yellow.  I am making the pic super big for Johnny so he can see the bikers:)

There were more of these and cars than actual bicycles.
Great trip!

More Random:)

I finally plugged in my real camera so here is another post of random pics in no particular order from this last month.

Visiting our old friend Dakota

Back to school party, Carter found his way to his new daycare family and took a seat:)
Our new favorite thing is restaurants with toys:) Makes for a more relaxed dinner!
When I picked Carter up from daycare the other day Nick gave me a squash from their garden.  Carter refused to let it go.

Night Night with Gegaw and Grandma

Maizy really wanted to play with Carter in this tent, he was not so sure
and really wanted her to not hug on him, Sorry Maiz

So long summer

Summer is Officially over:(  My first day of school is tomorrow.  I'm excited for a new group of kids, but miss staying at home with Carter.  Here are a bunch of random photos from my phone.  I haven't downloaded any pics off my real camera since July.  I will get of that soon.

Johnny and Terry came up to visit and stay with Carter for a few of my first days back.  They went up to the Children's Museum at Beaver Creek.  Looks like Carter had fun.

We got a Mr. Potato head at Costco.  He really likes playing with all of the pieces.  Doesn't really do what you are suppose to do, but he tries!

Guess which one is Mommy's and which one is Carter's.  The only thing I added to his were the feet, he did all the rest.  I would like to say that he is a genius, but the fact that the eyes, nose and mouth are in the right place is pure accident.

He really likes the band I put on to hold my hair back when I work out.  Future career as Rambo?

Cowboy boot slippers!!!Love!

The outfit would not be complete with out Mardi Gras beads!

Being sweet at the doctor ( This was a long time ago)

Messy, messy baby.  The pool right next to the sandbox isn't the best idea!

Went to a wedding at the top of the Beav.  This is where the wedding was suppose to take place, but those clouds had other plans.

Therefore no Gondola ride for the wedding guests, shuttles up the mountain was way drier.

We went furniture shopping.  Carter just wanted these...

and this

Beautiful sky

Greensky at Statebridge

We went to a place called State Bridge to watch one of our favorite bands, Greensky Bluegrass.  They played an early show, which was perfect for Carter to be able to go too.

We bought him a tie-dyed shirt at the Minturn Market just in time!  My new favorite pic!

Rodeo

The Eagle rodeo is a big thing around here. I have never been. Niles has been once. We decided to visit the 4H barn this year and let Carter visit all the animals. A surprise benefit was a lot of my students had animals here and a girl that works with Niles her son won grand prize pig and her daughter won grand prize cow. It was a last minute decision to go so I only had my phone to take pics.

Turkeys

A student of mine had a baby chicken she let Carter pet.

Kissing sheep
The owner told us it was fine if Carter touched bc he was super friendly. I don't think he had this in mind.

Lazy pigs!

So that is Kelly Liken. She is a very well known chef in Vail and was on Top Chef. We love her restaurant and the show. She bids on meat which is cool. I may have stalked her a bit to take her picture. The kid in the hat is also a former student.
