Weeks 1 and 2

These weeks have flown by...kinda.  Niles went back to work Wed and mom left Wed morn.  Johnny and Terry made it up for the long weekend.  Corrie and Drew are in route to Colorado this very moment.  Carter has had lots of visitors in his two weeks and of course lots of camera worthy 

moments!

Day Two!

Today has been filled with feeding (which is hard) and trying to move (also hard!).  Carter had problems feeding yesterday because we couldn't keep him awake.  Last night he decided was a great time to be awake.  Today we had some successful feedings and not so, but he is progressing just like he should.  He did fine on his hearing test and got his first vaccine today, Hep B.  They are watching him for jaundice.  He is right on the edge right now.  ESPN was prepared to announce the birth of Carter for Game day last night, but then KU decided to play like my 7th graders and he was no longer the filler story for the night.  Dang.  Here are some pics from today.  Not that many, I need to be a better picture taker, but then I would have to get up!

Carter H. T.!

Born February 14 at 5:07am!  7 pounds 3 ounces and he is 20 inches long.  He has a head of brown hair just like Mom requested.  Tiff is doing great after surgery!

C-section...

Tiff tried so hard, but Carter is not liking the pressure and her body can't get past 9cm.  We are getting prepped for surgery as we speak.

Labor!

The epidural helped a lot.  Tiff is getting small naps in between the nurses checking on her.  We heard last time that there is just a "little bit of cervix left."  Pushing soon!

Trip #2...For real this time

5cm dilated, the ball is rolling to get the epidural!  Maybe Tiff can get some sleep then.  Everyone is fine, and Grandma Hinson is here for support.

Trip #1...and yes that means there will be a trip #2

So they sent me home.  Boo.  I am dilated to 3cm, and having contractions every few minutes, but no water breakage and only efaced 75%.  So here I am laboring at home, not so much fun.  Neither is driving through the canyon and having contractions at the same time, but guess we will do it at least one more time.  I have been saying all along that I just didn't want him to come on Valentine's Day, guess this will be his first form of defying his mother!  I will text everyone again when trip #2 commences.
