In other news

The garage door fell on my car last week:(  Merry Christmas!

It had frozen shut the week before.  It was strained pretty bad and then it just fell this week.  Not the whole thing, just the bottom part.  They were pretty old and terrible doors anyway.  The joys of home ownership!

I realized I'd never posted a pic of the completed deck.  Here it is!  I have lots of pics of the process to post.  Maybe after Christmas...
This is what our new garage doors will look like.  I was trying to make it look ok with the deck color.
Merry Christmas to us!

More Advent

These are some of the advent activities that we have been up to!

"Buy a Gift for a Friend"  We picked a couple of things off of our angel tree at school and Carter will take an ornament to school for an exchange.

"Lights on Broadway"  This is one of my favorite Eagle traditions.  They have a parade and light up our main street, which is called Broadway.  This year they added a bonfire and live music in the park.  It is always a good time and this year did not disappoint.

It was very cold!  We all had many layers on...who does he remind you of?

If you answered the little brother from the Christmas Story, 10 points!
Only in CO do you have a hippy Santa!

 At the Bonfire with Juni!
 Broadway!
This kid loves a parade.  He talked about it for days, even his teacher said he wouldn't stop talking about it.  We went to the Everything store later that week and he said, "Mommy put lights on your car for the parade!"

"Castle Peak Christmas Party"  Castle Peak always hosts a party at the bowling alley.  Carter loved the bowling and playing with Sawyer!

"Sing Christmas Carols" Jingle Bells and Frosty the Snowman are his favorite.
I'm trying to get a good video, but he immediately stops when I get my phone ready.  This is the best I could do!

"Make Christmas Ornaments"  No pics of these, but lets just say, "Stop eating the glue," was a frequent statement!

"Donate Money to the Salvation Army"  He has been wanting to do this, but I never have cash.  I'm trying to keep a couple of dollars in my wallet so he can keep doing it.

"Color a Christmas Picture"  This was an epic fail that may have resulted in mommy being a little mad/pouting.  He hasn't been much of a colorer, but he got a Halloween coloring book that he loved.  I decided to buy him several Christmas coloring books and normal ones for Christmas, and of course he is back to wanting nothing to do with it:)  I tried several times to get him to color and this is what I got and about 2 min of his time.

I decided to just color my own picture.  I need to write at the top, Tiffany Age 32!

Decorate Christmas Cookies!

I had everyone over for the 2nd annual Cookie Exchange.  It was very fun and lots of cookies were consumed.

Carter has been waking up very very early.  He used to come to our room, but now he wanders around until we hear him.  This morning I found him with an empty decorating bottle and red sugar everywhere.

 All the cookies!

Carter liked lots of candy on his cookie!

Lots of Fun!  Hope everyone is enjoying the season as much as us!

Holy Advent!

We have lots of fun advent going on in our house.

We wake up and move the mouse on the calendar.  This was the advent calendar that Ashely and I had as kids.  Someone made it for us.  Can't remember if it was a church member of Granny and Grandpa or a Bishop Kelly person?  Anyone remember?

When we get home from school or whenever on the weekend we get a piece of paper out of the "Christmas House" that has a special Christmas Activity for the day and a bible verse that will lead us through the story of Jesus birth.

Last before we go to bed we light the advent candle.  This was something that Niles and Corrie used to do when they were little.  He may be slightly confused about the candle:)

Here are the first few Advent activities that we have done!

Nov 29 (Yes I started the day after Thanksgiving) Decorate the house
Carter was very helpful.  This happened when I went to put Christmas music on my ipod.  He told me when I came back up, "I throw them Mommy, its fun"

Nov 30-This may be the best day ever!  We rode the "Polly" Express!  Thanks to the recommendation of the Hodge family we learned that the Georgetown railroad did a Christmas train.  We  watched the Polar express the night before.  Carter lost interest in it pretty quick, but that is all he would talk about the next day.  He was really cute and still out of the blue will say, "I had fun at the Polly Express Mommy."

This is a video I took on our way, I took another when we got there and waiting on Niles.

 View from a bridge...I didn't like it:)
He kept singing "All aboard the choo choo train"!

and ended with a candy cane!

December 1 Decorate the Christmas Tree
He was way more interested in playing with the ornaments than putting them on the tree.

Playing with his Winnie the Pooh ornament, very serious

December 2nd Read a new Christmas book

December 3rd Eat Christmas Tree Grill Cheeses for Dinner

December 4th Write a letter to Santa
By his signature I think he is going to be a doctor:)
Dec 5th This was suppose to be look at Christmas Lights, but the roads were so bad we just looked at what we could on our way home.  We will table this activity for when the roads are clear.

We went up to Sylvan Lake to take our Christmas Card picture.  We hiked a little.   Can you find waldo in this picture?
Waldo is the ice fisher on the left of the pic

Movember

Niles participated in Movember or no shave November.  This is the month that you grow a mustache or beard in support of prostate cancer.

One guess for who he looks like?
