Snow!

Woke up to snow today!  We haven't had much down valley this year so it was surprise.  Here is what our porch looked like...

and the roads... Weird pic to post, but it still amazes me that is can snow all night and day and this is what the roads look like.  A plow works wonders:)  Maybe OK should buy a few and then life wouldn't shut down when it snows.

365 Week 8: Instagram Week

I was very excited to get my new iphone, bc it takes a lot better pics than my other phone.  The number one App from last year was a photo app called instagram.  It is free and allows you to put all of these photo effects on the pics you take with your phone.  Photoshop for your phone is what it basically is, just not as many options.  I decided to take all my pics this week with instagram. Needless to say most are Carter, I had the week off and we got to spend lots of time together!

365: Week 6 and 7...a little behind

I'm a little behind on posting pictures from the project.  I have been taking pics and trying new things.  Truthfully I can't remember when I took some of these pics and some may have been on the same day.  I don't need to let myself get so far behind in posting, it makes for a confused Tiffany.  Oh well here ya go!

D40 Bassett Hound Roscoe...so the one of the left is funny bc I had my aperture set low which should make the background blurry, but Roscoe's nose is so long his face turned out blurry:)

D42  I am really upset this one didn't work out.  I was trying to make Niles and Carter black against the background of the fish tank, but I couldn't get them to not be blurry and I ran out of time bc of all the people.  This one was the best one I could get...next time, next time:)

D45 I am doing this tutorial thing and todays tutorial was all about white balance settings on your camera.  It said to take the same pic, but change the white balance settings.  You can definitely tell a difference.  I can't do the custom white balance, bc I don't have the equipment or know how yet.  Another day.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Carter!

We had a great day celebrating Carter's birthday.  It was a lot of work.  I may have been slightly over ambitious, but it was a great time with friends and family.  Carter was suppose to be wearing his one shirt from the earlier pictures, but Aunt Ashley dressed him before his nap.  She put his diaper on backwards! He woke up with some wet clothes. Good thing she brought him some new clothes to wear!

 We played in the basement.  Cayle rocked on Carter's new strider and thank god for Maizy pushing that train button.  The rest of us got tired of that fast.

We pulled lots of yummy treats from a pinata, Bryn got the lucky string!

Birthday Cake

Niles and I come from two very different backgrounds when it comes to birthday cake.  The Thomason Family is all about the homemade cakes, with recipes that are passed down.  The Hinson Family is all about fancy cakes.    Neither one is better (although we have had some arguments) and they both taste great.  I make Niles his cheesecake and he buys me my Costco cupcakes.

 This one is homemade too. I talk about this one all the time and say that I always wanted that cake, you can tell by my face:)  My granny never made it for me though, she deprived me so:)

So what to do for Carter.  How are we going to merge these two backgrounds?  My attempt at a fancy homemade cake...

Fishies and Birthday Party Twin Style

We went to Denver this weekend to celebrate Carson and Brayden's Birthday, run some errands, and visit the aquarium!  It was packed full of places to be, but we had a great time.

First stop was visiting the twins! Got to visit with a lot of Jodi's family and eat her family's spectacular lasagna.  They are Italian and know how to do it right!  Her cake will put mine to shame.  You will understand why in a few days (I have a whole post that will be dedicated to birthday cake:)

Carter enjoyed exploring the hotel room.  You put him down in a brand new room and he immediately goes to the things he can't have first, funny how that happens.

Note to birthday gift givers...all he needs is a doorstop.  There were two within a few feet of each other.  He was in heaven.

Sunday we visited the Denver Aquarium.  We learned the valuable lesson to only visit places like that during the week.  It was crammed full of people and strollers.  Despite the crowd we had fun.  Carter liked looking at the fish.  Niles and I had the conversation that after going to the one in Oregon, nothing can ever compare.  It was hands down the best aquarium, but this was good too.
