A few videos...

He is working on a certain word...
Worst video ever shot!  He was not in the best mood and wanted to stand and hold on to my hand so I was shooting one handed.   Johnny could have shot it perfectly with Carter climbing all over him.  I'm just not that good!

This video makes me wonder what is going through that sweet head of his, not ground shaking footage, just cute:)

I also forgot the best announcement last week!  Welcome to the world Paige Ruby!  You are blessed to have Grace as a mommy, can't wait to meet you!
(I stole your pic Grace, don't sue me...and you should post some more:)

Cowboy Mania!

You can tell football season has started in our household.  On game days we have been sporting our orange proudly and sending out lots of picture texts; which because we are a superstitious family will have to continue until the Cowboys have a downfall.  Hey it has worked for NCAA and NFL so far.  They need to give me millions for the luck I am bringing to the world of football!

He even dreams in orange and black;)  Notice the awesome bed head.  He has some Harry Potter hair going on right now.  If you are not a HP dork like myself, that means uncontrollable hair.  Not even water can calm his mane.

We went to Denver last Saturday to watch the game with the OSU alumni group.  We were able to see Jodi, Chris, and the twins.  My friend Steve that I worked with in the Basketball  office came down from the big city of Sterling, CO to cheer on the Pokes.  Niles said, "You and Carter made it through a whole football game, I'm impressed."  I can watch Cowboy football, just not ever other team in America.  I have a football limit, unlike Niles (and he hopes Carter).

We are a Cowboy family all around, Sundays we just change to blue and silver.
Keep up the wins State and Dallas!

7 Months Old

I know I say this every month, but I really can't believe it has been 7 months since this...

I say to people, "When he was little" and they look at me weird, but look how little he was compared to now!

Things we want to remember about Carter at 7 months old:

-Wants to be sitting up all the time
-Starting to pull up on my legs when he is sitting next to me, his lower half is a little stronger than the top half.  I usually end up with his head in my lap and his butt in the air.
-Eating better now, opens his mouth on his own and everything.  We have tried apples, avocado, rice, oatmeal, green beans, peas, apricots, carrots, squash, and sweet potato.  Meat is up next!
-Slowly growing out of his 3-6 month clothes, it is always sad to me when he moves up a size, therefore I tend to put him in clothes that are to small!
-rolls all over the place and scoots in a circle, he gets really frustrated because he hasn't figured out the moving forward part

The stairs are baby proofed whenever he gets ready

Rockies Weekend!

We headed to Denver yesterday to watch the Rockies play the Reds.  We had a great day!  Dad had some Marriott points, so we were able to stay downtown for FREE!  It was especially nice because we walked to Coors field and to the 16 Street mall for dinner. Thanks Dad!

We bought the tickets back in June when Carter would still fall asleep in public.  Doesn't happen now, so I was a little nervous as to how this was going to go, but he did awesome!  We showed up at the top of the 2nd.  Had fantastic seats thanks to Wells Fargo.  They have a special deal where you can buy one club seat, get one free.  I didn't realize that Club seats meant indoor amenities and covered outdoor seating.  You had to show your ticket to get into the section.  The bathroom even had a fancy changing table that came in very useful.  We had tickets for the fourth row, but we chose to sit in the very last row, because it was completely shaded.  We picked well.  By the end of the game the sun had reached every row in our section, except the one we were sitting in.  It ended up being a great game.  Carter made it through the 9th, which shocked both of us, and we were able to see the Rockies win!

He slept through the 4th inning, that never happens anymore

 Club Level
He cheered on the Rockies well, sports fan in the making...

After dinner we asked around for an ice cream place and was told there was a pinkberry.  If you have been watching Curb your Enthusiasm this season then you know why we chose to try it.  It was very good, and would have been a healthier option if I hadn't added oreos;)

Carter enjoyed the nice hotel bed.

This is how he sleeps now, butt in the air

This was suppose to be our last weekend of craziness, but it continues.  Next weekend Niles is going to the CVMA conference at Keystone.  One of my favorite bands is playing in Glenwood on Friday, so we are trying to work out going to that.  Strange how a year ago we just would have gone, now we have to find a sitter and plan around a certain baby's schedule.  I won't be shocked if we end up going to Lyons on Sat night.  Niles says we aren't going, but there is a small concert we always go to. It is very family friendly and you camp for the night.  That is a lot of stuff for Niles to do in one weekend, but hey the next one will slow down...maybe!

Labor Day Weekend!

Love long weekends!  Niles had to work on Sat, so Carter and I hit the sales at the outlet mall in Silverthorne.  We accomplished our main goal which was a Halloween costume and a few other things.  By the time we got home it was football time.

Carter had his game face on
Sadly we could not watch the Cowboys on TV and had to watch the OU/TU game.  Carter was quite bored.  So was Tiffany, but that pic is not as cute.

Jodi, Chris, and the Twins came up for a visit on Sat.
Carter is one day older than Carson and Brayden

Carson is on the left, Brayden is on the right

 Carter Out-take

We went up to the Beav for Oktoberfest, man do those twins draw the attention!

Me and Brayden

Carson and Carter were trying to pull on each other, that is why I am holding his hand

Everybody look and smile...yeah right
Monday Carter and Niles took a short bike ride around the block, just wanted to see how he would do

Wish every weekend was a  long one!

Eating

As much as it makes me want to pull my hair out, Carter not eating is funny...

We do love that sippy cup!

Niles was able to get him to eat lunch and dinner with no trickery, vast improvement.  Labor Day weekend, wahoo!  The twins are coming to visit.  Let the chaos begin!

6 Months Old!

Well really he is 6 1/2 months, but we just went to the doctor Friday.  His monthly stats are 16 lbs 3 oz (25th%), 27 in (75th%). Carter thought the paper on the table was the most fun.  Not much of it left by the time his doctor got there.   She said he is doing wonderfully.  He put on quite the show for her.  He wanted to make sure that she knew how busy he is.  She was impressed at how well he could sit, even though he was moving around like crazy.  The food thing is not going so great.  She suggested giving real food that we are eating and cutting down on the bottles a bit.  Here's hoping he turns into an eater!

Doctor Fun, sorry I don't know how to make it the other way

Things we want to remember about Carter at 6 months:

-Not loving the solid foods.  We have tried: rice, apples, carrots, sweet potato, avocado, and butternut squash.  He is really good at not letting that spoon even think about getting through his pursed lips.
-Loves to roll around on the floor, not sure if he will ever crawl, he can pretty much get what he wants this way
-started a new daycare, fingers crossed this works out or he might be in a kennel at Niles's work!
-Two teeth still coming in
-hates the blender!  Never heard a child cry like he does when you turn on the blender
-Still very easy going, don't know how we got so lucky
