Baby hair...gone:(

Carter got a haircut today.  I didn't really want to do it, but he needed to be able to see.  The lady said he was the best first haircut she has done in 23 years!  I had opened a birthday gift in the mail for him and decided to take it with us.  Brand new toy+she had 2 dogs=very entertained, still baby.  She even layered it like an adult haircut.  I hope, but seriously doubt it will stay that easy.

Happy Birthday Baby Carter!

Had a great day celebrating Carter today.  He did not really get it, but we had fun anyway.

Things we want to Remember about Carter at 12 months:
-Walking...everywhere
-Loves books with animals and can touch and feel.  He especially likes the cow, lion, and golden retriever puppies.  They all get a big laugh.
-One more new tooth, total of 7 now
-Likes milk (real milk)  a lot, hope that continues
-Gets really excited when I pick him up from daycare and Niles comes home for the night
-Loves to play football with the kitty, just the tackling part
-Likes to share his food.  The best is when he chews on it for a little while and then offers it to you:)
-almost 20 lbs and  30 inches-not sure what percentages those are...don't really care now, my how I've changed in a year:)

What a blessing he has been!

Random

Here is a bunch of Random pics of things that have been going on these past few weeks:

What a difference a year makes:)
Maizy and Carter

Walking pro...almost

He likes to hide around this corner and for you to come find him

Cell phone pics...

We went shopping and Carter grew tired of it fast
But while we were up valley, we went to the new doughnut place!

So I have failed miserably last week and this week.  Carter and Niles were sick last week and I've been sick this week.  So needless to say, I have been taking pictures, but not trying anything new and not really taking it off of the automatic green box.  Most of them are also of things in my house, because that is where we have been secluded to.

D28:  My last bags of milk for Carter:)

D29: Rock Chalk!

D30: Ok so this was taken on day 29, he is laughing at Lil in this pic

D31:I wanted to take it right at her eyes, but apparently we are mean owners and she won't look us (or the camera) in the eye and kept bowing her head at me.  I promise we don't beat her

D32

D33 So not a great picture (Nick if you comment on the dust under my electronics, I will scream at you:), but this pic has a funny story.  Niles and Carter are in an ongoing argument.  Carter thinks this speaker should go down and Niles thinks it should set up.  They go back and forth all night.  You would think we would have moved it by now, but then you would have to move all of the surround sound and we are way to lazy for that.
D34 So not only have we been sick, but teething as well.  Great shot of those Hinson Cheeks!

Learn to Ski!

Vail offers this fantastic program for the local schools called Learn to Ski.  We take our students up to Vail for 2 days.  The instructors divide them into groups by ability and off they go!  This means the teachers are left to their own devices on the mountain!  For me this meant getting to ski a day with Niles for FREE!  I didn't get a pass this year, so it was my first day on the slopes in a year and a half.  I thought I was going to be terrible, but I did great!  I got really tired fast, and I am definitely feeling it today, but I only fell three times.  Niles was very patient with me and my slowness.  I got a little aggravated at the cat tracks, which are the bane of my existence.  No one wants to go with me, because I will ride the same run over and over again, just so I don't have to take a cat walk anywhere.  I don't truly dislike much in life, but cat walks are on that list, way above vegetables!  Here are a few pics that we took with epic mix.

It was great to spend a day on the mountain with my hubby and being able to see my students enjoying themselves in a different setting.

In a week where members of our valley have lost their sons, I dedicated my camera to mine:)

D22:  I was going for the forefront in focus, the background blury, look how even the back of his head is out of focus, I like it:)
D23: Giving Daddy a smile as he comes up the stairs

D24:  I was trying to get this face
and somehow this one turned out with the background all black...cool mistake!

d26  So this day we went to the memorial service for Taft.  It was also the anniversary of the plane crash.  The Conlin family lights a candle every night with a prayer in mind.  They passed out tea lights and asked for everyone to light the candle for Taft with their family.  The pin is what they gave the basketball staff.  I put them together for a pic.  I didn't mean to do it, but I like the reflection in the countertop.  I do not like how you can see crumbs on my countertop!

D27  Turns for Taft!  We headed up to Vail with the Letos.  Niles and Lonnie joined hundreds of people at  Chair 4 to do a run in memory of Taft.  You were suppose to wear pink.  That was Tafts favorite color.  Niles tried on my pink wig under his helmet.  He decided against it, but not before I could grab a pic with my phone!

A Week of New

Carter decided this week was the week to do lots of new things.  He started standing up in the middle of the room by himself.   I have videos of all the other things:)

A few steps!  Getting close to walking...

Why you ask does he have a bib and long johns.  The longs johns are from our trip to Vail.  The bib is bc he now does this...

Car fun, just learned to push this around

I will post my 365 pics tomorrow!  Have a great week:)
